About Company

ActionAid Rwanda (AAR) is a national affiliate of ActionAid International, a global federation committed to eradicating poverty, achieving social justice, and promoting gender equality. Operating across five districts in Rwanda, AAR collaborates with over 500,000 marginalized individuals, focusing on empowering women and girls, enhancing livelihoods, and advocating for human rights.

🌍 Mission and Focus Areas

AAR’s mission is to address the root causes of poverty and injustice by empowering communities, particularly women and girls, to realize their rights and build sustainable livelihoods. Key focus areas include:

  • Women’s Rights: Combating violence against women and girls (VAWG), promoting economic justice, and advocating for gender equality through empowerment and policy change.

  • Resilient Livelihoods: Supporting smallholder farmers, especially women, with agroecology training, access to improved seeds, and market linkages to enhance food security and income.

  • Emergency Response: Providing humanitarian assistance during disasters and building community resilience to climate-related shocks and pandemics.

  • Land and Climate Justice: Advocating for equitable land rights, especially for women, and promoting sustainable natural resource management and clean energy alternatives.
