Pole Institute

The Pole Institute, formally known as the Institut Interculturel pour la Paix dans la Région des Grands Lacs, is a Congolese think tank based in Goma, Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). It specializes in peacebuilding, conflict analysis, community dialogue, negotiation, and mediation within the Great Lakes region. The institute serves as a hub for intercultural exchange and reflection, aiming to foster sustainable peace and development in the area.

The Pole Institute is also a member of the African Union’s Network of Think Tanks for Peace (NeTT4Peace), which brings together research institutions focused on conflict prevention and peacebuilding across the continent.
